My organisation
Austrian Power Grid AG (APG) is Austria’s independent electricity transmission system operator, responsible for the national transmission network at the highest voltage level. A robust transmission network is essential for integrating electricity from renewable energies into both European and domestic power supplies, thereby enabling the energy transition. In close cooperation with the grid operators of neighboring European countries, APG lays the foundation for the development of a liberalized electricity market across the EU and plays a key role in ensuring that the Austrian economy and society have access to electricity at market-driven prices. Additionally, APG is responsible for forecasting green electricity across Austria, fulfilling a crucial role in integrating renewable energies into the national power supply.
